I'm fundraising to prevent, treat and beat stroke!
Hello everyone! My name is Marilyn Di Bella and most of you know my beautiful husband, Roger Sewell or my Big Dog. We just clocked up 36 years of being together!
In January 2013 Roger was diagnosed with Cerebral Amyloid Angiopathy, a degenerative disease that causes bleeding strokes and, depending on what part of the brain the stroke occurs, can lead to loss of all cognitive ability and the person is destined to life in care unable to appreciate or do any of the things they once loved.
Roger went into care in May 2022 and his condition has continued to decline to the point where he virtually can't do anything for himself except give you that gorgeous smile that melted me all those years ago.
Sadly, this disease affects people even younger than Roger was so I want to raise awareness by organising events where the money raised goes directly to CAA research so that, in the future, no family has to watch the demise of their loved one to the extent that I have.
