In 2021 the Men's Health Awareness Ball is raising awareness for the Stroke Foundation to help prevent, treat and beat stroke
The Men’s Health Awareness Ball aims to raise the community’s awareness of men’s health issues one ball at a time, bringing to light aspects of men’s wellness that may not otherwise be openly discussed, whilst raising crucial funds for charities, like the Stroke Foundation, directly associated with men’s health issues.
The Stroke Foundation is a national charity that partners with the community to prevent stroke, save lives and enhance recovery. They stand alongside stroke survivors and their families, healthcare professionals and researchers to build community awareness, foster new thinking and support survivors on their journey to live the best possible life after stroke.
Stroke is one of Australia's leading causes of disability and death, killing more men than prostate cancer. Stroke attacks the brain – the human control centre, changing lives in an instant, and its impact extends well beyond the immediate medical emergency.
In 2020 over 27,400 Australians experienced a stroke for the first time in their lives. That is one stroke every 19 minutes.
With your support, the Stroke Foundation can provide support to those affected right now and fund research to help change the landscape of stroke prevention, treatment and care.
The Gala Ball will be held at Dockside Cockle Bay Wharf, Sydney on Thursday 17 June 2021 from 6.30pm.
