																									My Story
Thursday 10th Sep
On the 1/11/2019 my day started like any other normal day. I got up did a few things around the house had lunch and got ready for work and started going to work as normal.
I hadn't gone far from home when I realized something was not right. I remember thinking I just need to get to work and the nurses I work with will help sort me out.
Little did I know I was having a stroke, my symptoms were different to what I have been taught over the years.
It was the nurses who said I need to get to hospital quick. So they got me in one of our work vans and off to hospital I went.
Five days latter I was discharged and walked out of hospital and not needing any rehab.
On the day I had the stroke, my work colleagues were my FAST heroes. They have been so good to me and I am very grateful for all there support and encouragement in the past year.
I still have a long way to go, but I am getting better everyday.
This year was my first time putting a morning tea together and raising funds to support the stroke foundation.
In a way it is also a thank you to them for always being there when I needed a friend.
