Help share the F.A.S.T signs of stroke

My why

This National Stroke Week (7 – 13 August 2023) we are fighting stroke together!

This has become close to us after Hubby suffered 2 strokes in August 2022.  His cousin suffered one 2 years ago and hid Dad has also suffered Recently.

We are 9 months into hubbys recovery.  Recovery has it good days, bad days, im ok days.  Learning to retrain your brain is a long journey, with many obstacles thrown your way.

Every minute counts.  Learning the F.A.S.T signs of stroke Face, Arms, Speech, Time can save lives.

I am fundraising for Stroke Foundation to fight stroke and I'll be sharing the F.A.S.T. (Face. Arms. Speech. Time) signs of stroke.

Using the F.A.S.T. test involves asking these simple questions:

  • Face Check their face. Has their mouth drooped?
  • Arms Can they lift both arms?
  • Speech Is their speech slurred? Do they understand you?
  • Time is critical. If you see any of these signs call triple zero (000) immediately.

If you or someone you know experiences the signs of stroke, no matter how long they last, call triple zero (000) immediately.

With our help, Stroke Foundation can continue raising awareness of the F.A.S.T message and work to help prevent stroke, save lives and enhance recovery.

Together we can change the state of stroke in Australia for generations to come.

Thank you for your support.

My last social media post

Sunday 28th May
The last 8 months have been the most stressful, real, trying, anxiety ridden, sleep deprived, and lonely in my entire life.
The stress a major illness puts on your life and relationship is hard to explain and describe.   The feelings, emotions, and pressures you have to deal with every day are hard.
On top of that you have to find your new normal.  We are still working toward that.
Then you watch people walk out of your life who you classed as family. Other people just forget you are there. Others just move on with life.
I am horrible with words, but something happened, and I needed the universe to hear.  It's not like me to spill on social media.
However, putting it here so memories will remind me once we have gotten through this that we are stronger on the other side.
Ps I am so proud of my husband and the recovery he is making.  I love him so much and don't know where I would be without him xo
