I'm walking 131km this May for Stroke Foundation

Hi there, I'm taking on the challenge of 131km in May and raising funds for Stroke Foundation to help create a future with fewer strokes.

Every day in Australia, 131 people will have a stroke.

In May 2024, my life changed in an instant.

At 42, healthy and with no warning signs, I suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm — a type of hemorrhagic stroke. I was rushed into emergency treatment where doctors inserted coils to stop the bleeding in my brain.

I almost didn’t make it.

Stroke doesn’t just happen to “older people.” It doesn’t always come with warning signs. And for many of us who survive, the effects don’t simply go away.

I live with the lasting impacts every single day — but I’m incredibly grateful to still be here.

This May, I’m taking part in the Stroke Foundation’s “131” challenge — moving every day in honour of the 131 Australians who suffer a stroke daily. Some days will be harder than others, but I’m showing up anyway.

If you’d like to support me, you can donate — every contribution helps fund vital research and support services.

And if you feel inspired, I’d truly love for you to join my team and take on the challenge alongside me 💛

If donating or joining isn’t possible, even sharing this message can help raise awareness.

Because stroke can happen to anyone — and together, we can make a difference.
