I'm fundraising to prevent, treat and beat stroke!

For my birthday this year, I'm asking for donations to the Stroke Foundation I've chosen this charity because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope that you'll consider helping me fundraise as a way of raising awareness & donations to help with stroke preventation.

As most if you know back in 2020 my father had suffered a stroke which was a very frightening thing to witness and to a loved one. As you feel useless in a situation you can't help. I remember it being a very emotional time for our family. 

My father was very fortunate to have survived the stroke with relatively minor effects having called the ambulance and within 15mins he was on his way to St George Hospital to be assessed/treated.

He was then transfered to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital to recieve "Thrombolysis &/or Clot Retrieval". It's a procedure that removes a blood clot that is blocking the blood flow to the brain.

We all fortunate that the proccedure went well and he was able to complete his rehabilitation back at Sutherland Hospital. 

The most incredible thing was he was back home after 3 weeks!!!

It is important that you familiarise yourself and others with the symptoms of a stroke, by recognising the signs and monitoring your health, this will decrease the severity of the after effects caused by a stroke if aided to quickly.

All I want for my birthday really is for us to help make a difference in stroke prevention, treatment and care. As ai know there are many families out there who have experienced this on all different levels.
