Karen you are an amazing courageous inspiring woman who has survived so much! More than anyone truly knows or what shows. My heart feels great compassion for you and others who are recovering and having to restart their lives from this silent , sneaky, debilitating thing called ‘stroke’. Having had one myself and several TIAS with no knowledge of the many ways they affect us and our lives, family and friends , I support this fundraiser cause 100% ! As you said not only does a stroke affect the ‘obvious’ areas that you and others may see , but it affects your whole life , your emotions, grief and sadness , a feeling of loss, personality changes, coping abilities, relationships, family , many unknown areas of our lives that are unseen . It affects your day to day life as you and others try to come to terms with the many changes it brings. Some being confusion of who I am now and why do I feel this way and learning what you can and can’t do anymore, the different ways people treat you, how you are perceived, questioned or even judged by others that don’t understand why you may now be or act or feel differently, the loss of friends and family and sadly even husbands or wives , those you thought would stand by you, your inabilities to work, loss of jobs or even career or business you had built from the ground up ,loss of homes, money, freedom to live how you once did , ability to drive and so much more. These are only some of the ‘unseen’ damages having a stroke can cause. The brain is a very complex thing and controls everything , not just how our body moves but how we are , think and how we feel. So In saying all this I gladly support you and anyone who can bring more awareness , hope , help, support and healing to those that have had to endure and suffer a stroke. I believe with more awareness and understanding of the damages caused by strokes it will help those affected by it feel understood and cared for much more and help them be able to heal and restart their lives again 🙏🏻💞😀🙌🏻 Thank God that we are all amazing humans that can and do heal and can restart again, maybe not exactly how we were but with much Love care and support we can 🙏🏻💖 Much Love 💖
