Rewriting the Story of Stroke: Jenny's Recovery

By Jenny Sheldon Join Me

Prevent Stroke. Save Lives. Enhance Recovery

Jenny Sheldon is a survivor of stroke, and is sharing her experience to advocate for stroke victims and survivors, including raising funds for Stroke Foundation.

Through her challenging recovery, including re-learning to speak, Jenny's goal has been: ‘How can I share my story so others can benefit?

A fundraising event will take place on Sunday 16 March, from 3-6pm at Smith’s Alternative, Canberra. This event will bring together community members, stroke survivors, and supporters of Jenny's mission: to raise funds and awareness. A Q&A with the author will take place at the event, jazz singing and a silent auction, with all proceeds going to the Stroke Foundation.

In the next 11 minutes, someone, somewhere in Australia is going to have a stroke. We must raise awareness to help prevent stroke, save lives and improve recovery for survivors of stroke.

Stroke is one of Australia's biggest killers, affecting anyone, anytime. It claims more lives than breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men. Around 600 Australian children experience stroke each year.
