Prevent Stroke. Savel Lives. Enhance Recovery

Hello

I’m hopefully making a difference by fundraising for Stroke Foundation to help prevent stroke, save lives and enhance recovery for survivors of stroke.

In the next 19 minutes, someone, somewhere in Australia is going to have a stroke.

Stroke is one of Australia's biggest killers and doesn't discriminate; it affects anyone, anytime, even unborn babies. It claims more lives than breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men. And incredibly, around 600 Australian children experience stroke each year.

By supporting me, you'll be contributing to sustaining vital programs and resources that Stroke Foundation provides, including:

šŸ’™ Preventing Stroke:

  • StrokeSafe Talks
  • Australia's Biggest Blood Pressure Check
  • Information Resources

Ā šŸ’™ Saving Lives:

  • F.A.S.T. (Face, Arms, Speech, Time) Signs of Stroke Awareness
  • Living Guidelines for Stroke Management
  • InformMe Website for Health Professionals

Ā šŸ’™ Enhancing Recovery:

  • StrokeLine
  • My Stroke Journey
  • EnableMe Website for Survivors of Stroke

Your support goes beyond just a donation; it's a lifeline for individuals at risk of stroke and survivors of stroke.

On a personal note, a couple of years ago I had a 'mini' stroke however was fortunate enough to receive early intervention and made a full recovery. As a Registered Nurse, this was a scary experience - sometimes ignorance is bliss - but not in this case. I know I was lucky, and this experience had a profound effect on how I view individuals who have had a stroke and their ongoing needs.

Thank you for supporting me. Together we can change the state of stroke in Australia for generations to come.

Tuesday 20th Aug
Hello all
I will soon book my flight to Paris for June 2025.
My Camino starts in St Jean Pied de PortĀ France and ends in Santiago, Spain.
The distance is 790km!Ā
I am walking on my own however I know there will be days when I can seek out the company of others or stay solo.
The time frame is approximately seven weeks. This is not about getting from point A to point B in the fastest time. If I encounter a village or town that is appealing I will stay an extra night. There may be inclement weather and the thought of walking in pouring rain might not be an attractive option. Or I might get blisters or be too tired to walk on a given day.
However, all that aside I am committed to completing the walk - a personal goal and the opportunity to raise funds for the Stroke Foundation.
