I'm fundraising and support the Stroke Foundation in memory of my father Lindsay Long, who died from a stroke in 2021, my grandmother Joan Heffernan, who died from a stroke in 2014 and even my dog Izzy who died from a stroke in 2021.
My aim is to raise money to help prevent stroke, save lives and enhance recovery for survivors of stroke.
In the next 11 minutes, someone, somewhere in Australia is going to have a stroke.
Stroke is one of Australia's biggest killers and doesn't discriminate; it affects anyone, anytime. It claims more lives than breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men. And incredibly, around 600 Australian children experience stroke each year.
