I have chosen to fundraise for the Stroke Foundation to raise awareness and funds to prevent, treat and beat stroke.
Stroke is one of Australia's biggest killers. It kills more women than breast cancer and more men than prostate cancer.
It attacks the brain – the human control centre, changing lives in an instant, and its impact extend well beyond the immediate medical emergency.
There were over 27,400 Australians who experienced a stroke for the first time in their lives in 2021, while more than 445,000 survivors are living in the community.
With your support, the Stroke Foundation can provide support to those affected right now and fund research to help prevent stroke, save lives and enhance recovery.
