Why I choose to be an Allied Health Assistant

Tuesday 16th Apr
Rehabilitation after a stroke is a multifaceted journey, encompassing various aspects of physical and cognitive recovery. From relearning basic motor skills to coping with cognitive impairments, each step presents its own set of challenges. One of the most frustrating aspects for many stroke survivors is the loss of independence. Tasks that were once effortless become daunting obstacles, requiring patience, perseverance, and often assistance from others.

I'm currently 1 week post shoulder surgery and certainly can relate to this to some degree.

In the fight against stroke, rehabilitation is not just about physical recovery—it's about reclaiming independence, rebuilding lives, and fostering resilience in the face of adversity. As someone who works in this area, I urge you to join me in promoting awareness and support for stroke survivors. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those battling stroke and empower them to overcome the challenges that lie ahead.

Here's a pic from my very snail pace walk to the beach. Who knew I could take photos one handed.
