500,000m Row for Australian Stroke Survivors

Hi I’m Ryan,

In 2023 at just 32yo i was one of the 45,785 Aussies who experienced a stroke.

Close to half a million stroke survivors are living in our communities today which is why we are rowing 500,000m to raise awareness and vital funds for the Stroke Foundation.

The physical effects of stroke are different for everyone but for me, I suffer from:

  • 24/7 Neuropathic pain. Due to the part of my brain that was impacted it sends abnormal pain signals where I feel as though my hand and arm are constantly being crushed or about to pop with pressure
  • Weakness and numbness throughout the right side of my body - head to toe
  • Fatigue
  • Vertigo
  • Visual field impairment

This is for half a million Aussie Stroke Survivors and the silent battles we face.

It’s for those who never got the chance to recover and it’s for all of the loved ones impacted by the ripple effect.

By raising awareness we can better understand and support one another.

If you, or anyone you know has had a stroke, I hope this will inspire you and give you the courage and motivation to keep pushing forward with your journey to recovery.

Never give up!

In the next 11 minutes, someone, somewhere in Australia is going to have a stroke so please get behind this great cause.

By supporting me, you'll be contributing to sustaining vital programs and resources that Stroke Foundation provides to prevent stroke, save lives and enhance recovery for stroke survivors.

Your support truly means the world to me,

Thank you

Ryan Webber
