We feel privileged to have been welcomed so warmly into the Tsaing family by Thomas and Anne and to have shared many happy times with this wonderful man. A huge loss of a super smart, kind, generous, funny and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Thomas brought wisdom and joy to so many. His light will continue to shine on us all.

Dearest Thomas, I still fondly remember the very first time our family met you all those years ago in Chinatown, Melbourne. It was a laugh a minute! Throughout the years, together with the sense of humour, other qualities emerged: your sense of duty and care towards your management, your own family and your extended family, the Chans; you became a pillar for many of your family and friends across the generations and globe; your principle, generosity and respect towards others even though there could be difference in opinion. Yes, too many times I would impatiently ask you: "but what is your point Thomas?". You would always respond with good grace. Yes, Thomas, I got your points, in spades.. The decent children you and Anne raised is a testament of your loving and wonderful parenting skills.. I know you would still guide them, especially Anne from above. Thomas has been our dear friend, colleague for over 50 years from the days when we met as greenhorns in government service, through training school, then working alongside each other until his move abroad, and after that, at reunion events. He has exceptional talent, quick reflexes, and many capabilities among which was his persuasiveness as a speaker. A fun-loving and cheerful big lad. Thomas took on the responsibility of being a husband, a father, then a grandfather in the twinkling of an eye. At our 50th anniversary gathering in HK in February this year, Thomas did not forget to share with us the joy of having a grandson, and spoke eloquently about his insights in looking after his grandson. Thomas has had a fulfilling life. We will always miss Thomas, he has brought so much joy into our lives. May Thomas rest in peace.

I will always have fond memories of Uncle Tom. I am always grateful that he was my godfather at my confirmation back in primary school. He was a caring soul and always took an interest on my family was faring. He will be sorely missed but never ever forgotten. Thomas my good friend, please rest well in eternal peace. You know very well that you will be sorely missed by us. We had so much wonderful time together, especially those happy days in Guangzhou when you were in social limelights and busienss sucess.
