Whether you're a seasoned golfer or new to the game, the Counterstroke Golf Classic offers flexible participation and plenty of opportunities to win exciting prizes all while supporting Stroke Foundation.

What to expect:

18 holes of golf each day with on-course competitions
Shotgun start (4BBB Stableford format)
Light lunches and post event presentations
Sit-down lunch on day 3

Important Competition and Event Information

Competition Elegibility

A valid GolfLink number is required to be elegible for the Tamie Fraser Shield and John Gourlay Cup competitions. Learn more at GolfLink.

Handicap Cap Notice

For participants without an official Golf Link number, a maximum handicap of 45 for women and 36 for men will be applied.
Players without a Golf Link number are not eligible for prizes but are welcome to join our novelty games, including ‘Nearest the Pin’.

Changes to Event

This event, start times and activities are subject to change in line with Victorian Government and Golf Australia restrictions, and public health advice. We will endeavour to keep you informed of any changes. Find out more about our cancellation policy.

Tamie Fraser Shield Competition
(Days 2 & 3)


Pairs playing at Moonah Links and Sorrento Golf Club - with the same partner - will automatically be entered into the two-day 4Ball Aggregate Event playing for the Tamie Fraser Shield.

The Tamie Fraser Shield is awarded to the pair with the highest score accumulated over the two days of play, across all divisions.*
*To be eligible to take part, you must have a GolfLink number. 

Golf Carts

Golf cart bookings must be arranged directly with the hosting golf clubs.

Sir John Holland Cup Competition
(Day 3)

Pairs playing at Sorrento Golf Club will also be competing for the prestigious Sir John Holland Cup. The Cup is awarded to the pair with the highest score across all divisions.*
*To be eligible to take part, you must have a GolfLink number.
