Welcome to the 131km in May Challenge

Every 11 minutes, stroke changes a life. But together, we’re changing the story.

Every day, 131 Australians experience a stroke - that’s one every 11 minutes. But the good news is that 80% of strokes can be prevented. Staying active, managing your blood pressure, and making healthy lifestyle choices can significantly reduce stroke risk.

That’s why we created the 131km in May Challenge - to set a challenge that not only gets you moving but also helps raise vital funds for stroke prevention, recovery, and support services. By taking part, you’re helping improve the lives of survivors of stroke, supporting their families, and contributing to critical research and advocacy.

Why your help is important

In the next 11 minutes, someone, somewhere in Australia is going to have a stroke.

Stroke is one of Australia's biggest killers and doesn't discriminate; it affects anyone, anytime.

It claims more lives than breast cancer in women and prostate cancer in men.
And incredibly, up to 120 babies and 400 children have a stroke in Australia each year.

By fundraising for the 131km in May challenge, you'll be helping to sustain vital programs and resources that Stroke Foundation provides, including:
