Since 2018, the Tasmanian Iconic Walks have been a significant community fundraiser for Stroke Foundation and has raised over $100,000 to prevent, treat and beat stroke.

This year, the Tasmanian Iconic Walks, a local charity run by volunteers, is taking place on Saturday 6 November 2021 and have chosen Stroke Foundation as their charity of choice. 100% of the funds you raise in this event go to Stroke Foundation to help prevent, treat and beat stroke.

Tasmanian Iconic Walks expects you to raise $250 per person or $1,000 per team (team of 4).

Stroke is one of Australia’s biggest killers and a leading cause of disability. A stroke strikes someone in Australia every nineteen minutes. It can be anyone, of any age.

In 2020, more than 660 Tasmanians experienced a stroke for the first time. Without action, it is estimated that the number of strokes in Australia will nearly double by 2050.

But something can be done about this. In fact, over 80% of strokes can be prevented.

Through community events like Tasmanian Iconic Walks, together we can increase community awareness of stroke symptoms to improve fast access to treatment; raise awareness of stroke risk factors; support surviviors of stroke to live well after stroke; and support stroke researchers with the funding they need to find the next game changer in stroke.
